Most of the time, students and parents think of tuition like a life buoy – it is to ‘save’ those who are struggling in certain subjects. However, this is not true for all cases.
As a tuition provider, we also see many parents sending their high-performing children to tuition to maximise their efficiency and help them perform even better. So, it is not surprising that many are also sending their kids to ‘post-exam tuition’ held during the holidays.
Why go for post-exam tuition?
Tuition comes into many people’s minds only before their exams. Reasonably so, as they want to prepare and do well for the exams. However, tuition is also helpful after the exam, for a few reasons:
-
There’s still next year
Unless you are in JC2 and finishing your A levels, chances are, you will still have exams next year! Rather than waiting until 2 months before your exams to seek help and join a tuition class, why not start earlier this time?
Consistent revision and practice is a tried and tested way to reduce last-minute panic and cramming before the exams. When you attend a regular tuition class right after your exams or early from the beginning of the year, you’ll be building that much-needed foundation so that you will have less to worry about later on.
-
Catch up while you can
If you still have unresolved doubts and misconceptions from the current year’s syllabus, this is the best time to play catch-up! Waiting until next year will only allow more topics and commitments to pile up, and you are likely to have less time to re-visit old topics.
The holidays present a golden pocket of time to strengthen your confidence in your weaker subjects. You don’t have the stress of new homework constantly coming in, or any upcoming quizzes to study for.
