For some students, topping the class in primary school is no big deal. But when L and his parents received news that he topped his class amongst other GEP students, it was a huge surprise for them! We are so excited to celebrate this milestone together with him! Read on as we share L’s story and how he achieved this feat.
Topping the GEP class in ACS(P)
L is an ACS Primary student in Primary 5 who also attends a few tuition classes at Future Academy. Early this year, he was invited for an awards ceremony during the founder’s day event of ACS(P), and was awarded a plaque for being the Top In Class in his Primary 5 class!
Being in the Gifted Education Programme (GEP) in school, L is surrounded by academically talented students in school. Thus, it was a welcome surprise that L emerged top in his class of GEP classmates! This achievement is a huge encouragement to his tutors and parents, especially in this lead up to the PSLE for him.
Despite L being in the GEP class, his parents worried for him as GEP students typically spend less time studying for the PSLE curriculum as they also spend curriculum time on enrichment activities under the gifted programme.
Enrolling L in Future Academy’s GEP support programme enabled him to receive guidance from experienced tutors, at the appropriate level for his learning. Regular tuition classes also helped L organise his time better, making sure he was on track in his revision for his core curriculum.
