In this edition, we are sharing some Chemistry notes from the Sec 4 topic: Electrochemistry! Our lesson notes and worksheets are sourced, re-packaged, and some even designed by our secondary Chemistry tutors themselves, who come with MOE teaching experience and understand the demands of the school and national exam system.
Lesson notes
Features:
- The introduction of the topic provides context for how the concept is relevant in real-life applications, and connects it to related concepts.
- Key points are organised in concise point forms for easy reading and reference.
- Some portion of the notes feature ‘fill-in-the-blank’ areas (blue words) for students to be engaged with annotating their own notes.
- Information is structured in various ways to consolidate learning and reinforce important points (e.g. tables for at-a-glance comparisons)
Worksheets
Features:
- Our worksheets are typically organised according to difficulty level.
- After teaching a new topic, we will let students try the easier questions to check their understanding.
- Subsequently, we will then give students more advanced questions and application-type questions to challenge them to solve new problems.
- We provide a variety of question types that attempt to capture the range of questions that can appear in the exams, and use them to impart answering techniques (e.g. simple recalling of definitions, data analysis, tricky MCQs)
Review and revision
At the end of each teaching quarter, we will also run through the previously taught topics with review and revision sessions. Through mock exams, quizzes, and past year paper questions, students will build up their speed and ability to tackle different topics together. This will also train their mental stamina and increase their preparedness for sitting an actual exam in school.
