Preparing for the PSLE exams

The PSLE exam is your child’s first major examination in school. Because their results affect their options of secondary schools, the PSLE is often treated with utmost importance. It is also crucial to understand how the PSLE scoring system works.

As a parent, you can support your child by explaining why the PSLE should be taken seriously, and guiding them with a revision plan. In the months leading up to the PSLE, try to pay more attention to which subjects or topics your child may need more help in – speaking to their teacher if necessary. From there, you can then decide if they need extra support like joining us in PSLE English tuition classes.

However, we also believe it is necessary to strike a balance and not put too much pressure on the child. Focus on building up good study habits and reward your child for putting in the effort, rather than focus on the results and scold them when the results are not as good as expected. And don’t forget to reserve time for play and family bonding time, even when the exams are near.

Conclusion

PSLE is one of the most stressful events for children and parents in Singapore. But you don’t have to make it a stressful time if your child has a genuine joy for learning and is well-prepared through consistent revision.
