Want to make the most of the June holidays? Besides finally booking your flights for a quick getaway (hurray!), you’ll also want to ensure the little ones are still learning and stimulating their minds through the month-long break.
We have several math-themed June holiday programmes for those who need help with PSLE Math, or those who are math-inclined and wish to challenge themselves with math enrichment activities. Browse through the options below!
1. GEP Prep Course for P2-3
Our Math GEP Preparation Course is a June holiday programme for academically-gifted P2 and P3 pupils who wish to further their chances at getting a place in the Gifted Education Programme. The class will take students through challenging math problems commonly found in the GEP screening and selection tests, teaching them the problem-solving heuristics to solve these problems.
P3 pupils, especially, will find this bootcamp timely, as GEP selection takes place in P3. It’s their one and only chance of qualifying for GEP, so don’t miss this chance to help them give it their best shot!
When: 13 to 17 June 2022 (Monday to Friday)
Who can attend: P2 and P3 students
Class timing: 3PM-5:15PM (Inclusive of 15 min break: 4-4:15PM)
2. Math Olympiad Training Workshop
If your child is bursting with passion for all things maths, our June Holiday Math Olympiad Training Workshop will be something worth exploring! From math puzzles to logic games, students will train their creative problem-solving skills to solve a diverse range of math Olympiad-type questions.
Ultimately, the goal is to equip these students to be able to take part in Math Olympiad competitions like the National Mathematical Olympiad of Singapore (NMOS) to get their math skills recognised. However, we also welcome those who are here for just a little taste of Math Olympiad. After all, you can’t go wrong when your child will be going home with better problem-solving and critical thinking skills!
When: 13 to 17 June 2022 (Monday to Friday)
Who can attend: Upper primary students
Class timing: 10AM-12:15PM (Inclusive of 15 min break: 11-11:15AM)
3. PSLE Math Bootcamp
Specially catered to Primary 5 and 6 pupils, this June Holiday PSLE Math Bootcamp is an intensive 5-day programme that closely follows the PSLE syllabus in primary schools. Children will revise important PSLE math topics and solidify their knowledge through interactive activities, with the opportunity to clear their doubts with our experienced primary school math tutors.
Inclusive of teaching as well as practice time, the bootcamp will retain our signature small group learning format. At the end of 5 days, children will go home with a firmer understanding of key math concepts and be more effective in tackling difficult PSLE Math problems.
When: 6 to 10 June 2022 (Monday to Friday)
Who can attend: P5 and P6 students
Class timing: 1PM-3:15PM (Inclusive of 15 min break: 2-2:15PM)
Conclusion
Our June holiday programmes offer children an intense learning experience over the course of a few days, taught by our experienced team of tutors (including ex-school team coaches and Olympiad goal medalists) at Future Academy. Because learning is packed across consecutive days, children can remember better and build upon their learning from the previous days. It always surprises us how much they can learn in just a few sessions!
Finally, to best facilitate learning, we will be keeping the class sizes rather small, in line with our small class size policy. So, you can expect lots of hands-on work, class participation, and close mentoring from our coaches!
