Last Wednesday (8 December 2021), some of our P3 Future Academy students received their results for the GEP Selection Test, revealing a very high success rate amongst our students! It is with much excitement that we got wind of our students’ and parents’ happy announcements, as we all know how hard it is to get accepted into this prestigious programme.

2021 GEP results of Future Academy students
Our GEP Preparation Classes consist of interested and talented students who wish to do well for the GEP screening and selection tests. While all these students are very bright and hard-working, they still gave us a pleasant surprise when about 90% of them passed the first round (GEP Screening Test) back in October 2021!
From our two classes – the English GEP class and Math GEP class – more than 40% of the English class eventually cleared the second round (GEP Selection Test), and more than 80% of our Math class was accepted into GEP.
Those are some really high percentages, considering that it is reported that only 1% of each cohort enters the GEP!
The success of our students is a combination of their diligence, learning drive, and our tutors’ patient and effective guidance. We cannot be more proud of all our students who have worked so hard!
What’s next for this new batch of GEP students?
After the euphoria of the news dies off for our parents and students, it’s time to prepare them for the beginning of their journey into the GEP. For some, that means having to transfer to one of the 9 GEP primary schools in Singapore. GEP students will also be placed into special classes where they will learn alongside other high-ability children.
While early GEP classes were made up of exclusively GEP students, more schools are now adopting mixed form or ‘meta’ classes, where GEP students and top-performing non-GEP students will form a class. Students will take non-GEP subjects such as the mother tongue language, PE, health education, and character and citizenship education in their form class. Only during English, Math, and Science, will the class be split according to GEP and non-GEP students.
During these GEP classes, students will embark on rigorous learning activities to challenge and stretch their potentials. These may include research projects and more in-depth studies as compared to the mainstream syllabus.
Future Academy’s GEP Classes
Our happy news today is about our students, but that does not mean you can’t join in the celebrations! If you have a child who is entering P3 soon, our GEP preparation classes are open for your child.
Future Academy’s GEP preparation classes have equipped successful students with the skills and familiarity with the type of questions commonly seen in the GEP Selection Test. Much to our delight, under the guidance of our tutors and coaches, they have brought us immense good news!
Type of GEP preparation classes we offer:
- English & General Ability (verbal reasoning)
- Math & General Ability (non-verbal reasoning)
Soon-to-be and current GEP students can also benefit from our GEP tuition classes, in which we support current GEP students through their studies, in cozy and nurturing small group classes. Tuition classes for GEP students are not common, but we hope to be the exception to provide you and your child with that added support they need.
