Are you planning which JC to go to? Or is there already a school that you are eyeing and you want to gauge if you can get in? JC cut-off points provide a critical benchmark for letting students know their chances of getting into a particular school. In this article, we take a look at the JC cut-off points based on O Level L1R5 scores for students admitted to JC in 2024.
What is the L1R5 score?
L1R5 is used for admissions to JCs in Singapore. It stands for Language 1 and Relevant 5 – the points for 1 language subject (English or Higher Mother Tongue) and 5 best-scoring subjects (including at least 1 science/math and 1 humanities subject). The score of each of those subjects (A1=1, A2=2, B3=3, …) are added together to give you the L1R5 score.
Students can also get bonus points deducted for good CCA grades, good language grades, and for selecting an affiliated JC. Read more about how to calculate the L1R5 in our earlier post!
